First, this soap does produce an incredible lather. Loaded with coconut oil and vegetable glycerin, this soap is entirely vegan and lathers like a dream. As one reviewer put it, "it has a wide sweet spot". If you are new to wet shaving, this is a great place to start as it is a very forgiving of accidental "over-watering". It gives a great protective glide and leaves your face feeling soft and smooth, not oily.
But the scent has people talking. This isn't grandma's lavender. Essential oils of lavender, ho wood, amyris, and West Indian Bay blend wonderfully in this masculine scent. It has a wonderful lavender note, reminiscent of driving through the lavender fields of Provence, but it is tempered by the woody tones which prevent the floral hit from being overpowering. It becomes a relaxing, zen like aroma.
